Good Buddy Award Winner 2011
Presented by Sir Bernard Ingham, this award recognises young people who have gone out of their way to help those with disabilities, or young people suffering from bullying, discrimination or periods of stress or sadness.

The winner was 13 year old, Jasmine Foster-Hale from Castleford, West Yorkshire.
Jasmine has dedicated a great deal of time and support to dozens of children who attend Pinderfield's Burns Club, which provides invaluable support to Children who have suffered burn injuries.
She helps her mum, a play specialist/burns club leader raise funds, helps organise weekend camps and has befriended dozens of children who need support. Jasmine has dedicated most of her young life to supporting these young people, many who have severe injuries. Her Mum says she couldn't run the Pinderfields Burns Club without her help and support.

Highly Commended in this category is six year old, William Hart from Darlington, County Durham.
William's older brother, Alex aged seven happens to have Downs Syndrome. William recognises Alex's disability and that he is different, he says: "Alex has dance syndrome," because he loves music! Both attend mainstream school, where William protects his older brother. He accepts that Alex needs must come first, yet he never complains. William also realises that Alex's speech impediment can make life very frustrating; William is fantastically patient and understanding. He explains his disability to others. William is an exceptional boy who is kind and considerate. He has had to grow up fast to help his brother.
